WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, made the following statement today regarding the House Rules package for the 113th Congress, which passed the House today:
The Committee on Rules will hold an emergency hearing tonight, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 8:10 PM in H-313 The Capitol on Senate Amendments to H.R. 8, The Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act of 2012 (American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012)
The Rules Committee will meet on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 8:00 PM or 10 minutes following the end of the Republican Conference meeting, whichever is later, in H-313 The Capitol on H. Res. 843, waiving a requirement of clause 6(a) of rule XIII with respect to consideration of certain resolutions reported from the Committee on Rules.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of Judge Robert Bork’s passing. Not only was Judge Bork one of America’s great legal minds, but he was also a tremendous public servant. His leadership will be missed.”
